What is Botox? Botox is a cosmetic injection that helps relax facial muscles and make your skin look young and beautiful. It produces dramatic results and a liquid facelift without any stitches, surgery, or major downtime. Women's Health Associates offers Botox and Dysport® (a type of Botox that can treat wider areas like the forehead). These injectables are FDA-approved treatments for reducing lines, wrinkles, and lax skin. What areas can Botox treat? Botox can treat several areas around your face, including: • Forehead lines • Frown lines (between the eyebrows) • Bunny lines (top of the nose) • Crow’s feet (around the eyes) • Marionette lines (around mouth) • Nasolabial folds (extending from the nose to the mouth) Your provider can also use Botox to treat neck bands.

Is Botox right for me?

To find out if you’re a candidate for Botox, your Women's Health Associates

provider reviews your beauty goals, medical history, and treatment preferences.

They examine areas of your face or body you’re concerned about and tailor a

customized treatment plan just for you.

What should I expect during my Botox treatment?

During Botox treatment, you rest in a comfortable reclining chair. Your Women's Health Associates provider numbs your skin to ensure the procedure feels comfortable. They gently inject Botox or Dysport just beneath your skin to smoothen out facial skin or help treat other medical conditions like hyperhidrosis. Each injection takes just a minute or two.

What happens after getting Botox?

After you receive Botox, there’s no downtime required. You can resume a regular routine immediately but may have some redness, tenderness, or swelling at the injection sites. Avoid touching the treatment area with your hands, but you can gently cool skin to reduce swelling. The results of Botox and Dysport could take a few days to appear and often last three to four months.
